New designs & processes are allowing the fabrication of 3 dimensional textured finishes to the materials offered. It is during supply chain visits with prospects & clients that we are often introduced to new processes & tooling that is helping to develop the market of natural stone. The input from different architects & designers from across the globe is centralised in the large factories where the teams are managing client expectations & pushing the boundaries of design.

Whilst visiting factories it affords us the opportunity to interface directly with collegues / associates / suppliers that are so often behind emails, phone calls & whats app messages. We get to ask questions, interrogate project details & risks, get a real hands on experience & see the elements coming to life. But we all get to see the nitty gritty details of cutting lists, design drawing interrogation, packaging specification, materials handling detailing, protection etc.

The information shared, first hand, during a walk about inspecting materials & being present to see the processes used is extremely valuable. The ability to see the moral of the artisans at work & how they enjoy their work creates a confidence in being part of the team. Combine this with great food a touch of wine & the delightful climes of Portugal, Italy, Spain or Greece & you can understand what contributes to our love for stone.
